    Sunday Evening Closure of The Mount Washington Transit Tunnel - Repair Of An Abnormal Circuit - Duquesne Light

    Summary:

    Pittsburgh Regional Transit has been notified by Duquesne Light of their intent to shut down the power to the Mt Washington Transit Tunnel, in an effort to repair an abnormal circuit within the tunnel, will close same to perform work on Sunday evening, October 25, 2026.

    Work and the full Transit Tunnel closure will begin Sunday Evening, October 25, 2026, beginning at approximately 5:00 PM continuing until the following morning, Monday October 26, 2026, at around 4:00 AM.

    Light rail service will detour via long established Allentown tracks in Warrington and New Arlington Avenues, with a Station Square - Allegheny Station rail shuttle car being made available to and from Station Square Station for free transfer to and from detoured Red, Silver & Blue Line cars.

    Buses will detour inbound via the same Allentown streets and to protect all existing outbound stops, will detour outbound via the Wabash Tunnel.
