Who’s eligible?
Businesses that employ at least 10 people or landlords that own or manage a housing complex with at least 10 units are eligible to apply.
The business or housing complex must also also be located within 1/2 mile from a bus stop served by Pittsburgh Regional Transit.
Cost
Passes must be purchased for every employee or each residential unit at a cost of $25 per month per pass for six months.
How do I make my application more competitive?
Pittsburgh Regional Transit will be selecting businesses and property manager/owners for the Bulk Pass Pilot Program based on several different criteria.
You should make it clear how your proposal addresses the goals of the program as well as who would benefit. The goals of the program are to:
- Increase transit ridership
- Reduce congestion and the need for parking
- Help Allegheny County residents and businesses reduce their carbon footprint by making healthier, more sustainable transportation choices about how they get around
Additional considerations will include:
- Demonstration of other efforts by the applicant that support transit use and other active modes of transportation (e.g., walking and cycling)
- Discussion of how data gathered during the 6-month pilot period would help you provide passes in the future.
Use the search button at the top of the map to determine if your location is eligible to participate in the Bulk Pass Pilot Program. Properties within 1/2 mile of PRT fixed transit routes are highlighted in purple.
