Planned Technology Maintenance: Saturday, October 17-Sunday, October 18
PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) will temporarily take most of its technology systems offline beginning at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, as part of a planned relocation of the agency’s primary data center. The planned work is necessary to maintain and improve the technology infrastructure that supports PRT’s operations and customer services.
What Riders Should Know
During the maintenance period, some PRT websites, applications and technology services may be unavailable or intermittent.
RidePRT.org is expected to remain available throughout the work. However, customers may experience temporary interruptions to certain online services, including TrueTime, PRT’s real-time bus and rail arrival information, and third-party applications that use its data.
PRT's Customer Service phone lines are expected to remain available, but representatives may not have every tool available to help effectively.
Timing
The primary stage of the work will begin at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 17. The migration is expected to take approximately 7 to 10 hours, although individual systems may be restored at different times as the work progresses. PRT will bring systems back online and verify their operation as the migration is completed and connectivity is confirmed.
Riders may continue to see intermittent service or technology disruptions while this work is underway.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as PRT completes this important infrastructure work.
