When did you start working at PRT?
I’ve worked for Port Authority since November 2001.
What do you do in your current role?
As Director of Marketing and Creative Services, I develop the look and feel of all things PRT. This includes the look of the buses and light rail cars, the ConnectCard design, advertising, interiors of our offices and Downtown Service Center, and much more.
What is one thing about your job that people would find most interesting?
I help to design buses! I also assisted in conceptualizing the design of PRT's Downtown Service Center. I enjoy that every day is different and interesting and presents new challenges. Working with talented artists and participating in unique art and design projects is particularly fulfilling.
What do you like most about working in the public transportation industry?
The impact of seeing people using something we have created is very satisfying. I think a lot of people believe that public transportation isn’t very exciting. I love challenging that notion and achieving design work that is fun and stylish but also accomplishes something.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Believe it or not, I spend a lot of my time on creative input. Good input leads to good output. I read a lot of art books and magazines. I love to watch and make independent films and listen to good music.
What is the one thing that is guaranteed to make you smile?
A good turn of phrase in a song.
