About the PRTner Pass

Three groups can participate in the PRTner program: 

Multifamily property owners and managers

-At least 10 eligible units in one physical location 

-One pass must be purchased for each unit regardless of occupancy, with the option to purchase additional passes. 

-There are no exclusions based on age for the residential program; it is solely based on number of units.

Schools

-Secondary and post-secondary schools that are not eligible to participate in the U-Pass program.

-Only students ages 12 and up are considered eligible for the program. 

-The program would be considered active during the traditional 10-month school year, with an option to extend year-round. 

Employers

-Must have at least 10 eligible employees

-Eligible employees are all benefits-eligible employees, or other defined groups subject to PRT approval 

-Employees age 65 and older, those who work 100% remotely, and others at PRT's sole discretion are excluded from the program.

Multifamily property owners and managers, secondary and post-secondary schools, and employers must purchase monthly transit passes for 100% of eligible participants (units) regardless of how many actually use public transit.

Buying transit passes for 100% of eligible units or participants will allow you to receive the deeply discounted rate of $28 per monthly pass, or nearly a 70% discount.

Only entities that purchase monthly passes for 100% of eligible units or participants will be able to participate in the PRTner pass program. We understand not all eligible participants will utilize transit, which is how we can offer the passes at such a significantly discounted price.

If you have an employee who does not live within Allegheny County, they will count toward your 100% and be considered eligible for the program, however employer site whose location is not within ½ mile from PRT service would not qualify. 

The discounted price of $28 is based on our current fare structure and the anticipated usage. In the future, we may update the pricing based on actual usage.
