The Monongahela Incline is a community asset that provides a quick and reliable connection from Mt. Washington to Station Square and downtown Pittsburgh. To keep up with maintenance needs, ensure its continued reliability, and to modernize the operation and controls, Pittsburgh Regional Transit will be closing the Mon Incline for approximately four months beginning August 1.

Due to unforeseen supply chain and material delivery issues, the Monongahela Incline is expected to reopen in early 2023.

It is now anticipated to reopen late February 2023.

A two-week closure in the fall will be needed to replace an interim backup generator with the permanent backup generator, which has been delayed by the manufacturer.
