In April 2024, Pittsburgh Regional Transit retained the professional services of Talson Solutions, LLC, an independent capital advisory firm, to conduct a quality assurance assessment of the ongoing electrical work for recent Monongahela Incline Rehabilitation activities.

In November 2020, we implemented 30 major service changes, 20 of which were directly in response to the ongoing pandemic.

Although the changes were considered temporary in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and expected to remain in place for less than 12 months, continued waves and troughs required us to keep them in place longe than 12 months, therefore triggering a requirement to conduct a formal Title VI analysis and hold a public hearing. In January 2019, we entered into a three-year agreement with Four Nines Technologies to provide fare model development and related Title VI Fare Equity Analysis Services for an amount not to exceed $210,000.

Annual Reports for Port Authority of Allegheny County Police 

The bus stop is the first point of contact between our customers and their bus service. The spacing, location, design, and operation of bus stops significantly influence transit system performance and customer satisfaction.

These Guidelines will encourage a more consistent, more accessible, and better connected network of bus stops over time. By assembling the information into a single document, public agencies and developers will more easily be able to incorporate transit needs into the design and operations of streets and highways, as well as in land development.

The goal of the East Busway Feasibility Study was to determine the viability of extending the East Busway from its current terminus at the Swissvale Station eastward to serve the communities of Braddock, East Pittsburgh, Turtle Creek, and Monroeville as well as points east of the study area.

Equity evaluation serves to identify areas that have a higher proportion of disadvantaged populations or populations that may have greater mobility needs. The Equity Index provides insight into the higher mobility need areas of Allegheny County.

This document is a reference guide to inform station improve- ments, whether it be repair, replacement, upgrade of an existing station, or design of a new station. The intention of the guidelines document is to become the basis of design decisions for all stations along the LRT fixed guideways.

In the fall of 2014, we contracted Campos Inc. to conduct a quantitative study to measure rider satisfaction, perceptions and experience; to determine if current riders were likely to continue using our service in the future; and to measure outreach efforts on newer products and initiatives like ConnectCard, ConnectRewards, and Real-Time vehicle tracking. 

The final report, issued in March 2015, includes survey results from nearly 2,000 riders.

We strive to provide quality service in a way that is efficient, effective and equitable.

To do so, we must make a number of decisions based on competing priorities about where demand is greatest, which types of service would work best and be most appropriate, and where limited resources can and should be used. These decisions should aim to be as fair, consistent, and transparent as possible.

To do this, we have developed a set of service standards that apply to all general public transit services provided by us, with the exception of our inclines.

These standards may change over time, as planning by nature is fluid. As such, these standards will be adjusted or reapproved and reissued at a minimum of every other fiscal year.

In May 2014, we engaged the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to provide a week-long advisory panel to focus on strategies for improving transit. 

The ULI panel interviewed local officials and stakeholders, and presented its recommendations to our staff and community leaders at the end of the week.
