The Wabash Tunnel provides a shortcut for motorists from Route 51 to the South Side and Downtown Pittsburgh.  

The Wabash Tunnel will be closed in both directions from Wednesday, July 24,2024 to Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Open Sunday 6 a.m-9 p.m. Outbound
Closed Sunday 9 p.m.-6 a.m.    ---

* Closed so traffic direction can be changed.

Additional Operating Restrictions:

The speed limit in the Wabash Tunnel is 25 mph and 15 mph around curves.
No vehicle taller than 13’1” is permitted in the tunnel.
No tractor-trailers or similar commercial trucks are permitted in the tunnel.
No flammable liquids or explosives are permitted in the tunnel.
